NewBeauty reports that the operation has shifted away from taking tissue out and toward repositioning what has moved. That matches what I see: the sunken, hollowed look people picture when they imagine eyelid surgery is largely the older technique, where lower-lid fat was excised rather than moved down into the hollow beneath it. The change matters most for the lower lid, where removing fat from a face that is already deflating ages it.
