Fractional CO2 Resurfacing

- Yes, for surface and upper-dermal findings in a candidate who can take two weeks. No for volume or descent.
What the evidence supports
Ablative fractional resurfacing has consistent controlled evidence, histologic confirmation of dermal remodeling, and effect sizes larger than anything non- ablative. The grade is B, and the reason is worth stating plainly: the size of the effect is settled, while the published evidence behind it is prospective series of ten and forty-five patients, where sunscreen and tretinoin each have large randomized trials. A strong verdict with a middling grade is the correct reading here. The grade measures the evidence. The trade is not subtle: real downtime, a genuine risk of post- inflammatory hyperpigmentation in darker skin types, and a healing protocol that has to be followed.
